St. Michael's Club

St. Michael's Club was begun in 1997, and has run continuously since then in term time.  The club is held on school premises but it is run by members of St. Michael's Church, and is technically open to any children from Years 1 to 6.

At present there are 21 children on roll, with a waiting list of 6.

So what do we do?

The aim of the club is to introduce children to the Church of St Michaels and All Angels, Middleton Tyas, and to give a broad explanation of the Christian Faith.

We are aware that children attending are of different, ages, backgrounds and abilities, and so we try to make our learning appropriate and varied. We use The Bible, stories, discussion ,acting, drawing, craft work and singing to explore different aspects of Christian living. We endeavour to make  our  learning enjoyable, and when appropriate,  FUN!

We try to take as big a part as possible in church services, particularly the special festivals and 'All Age' services.

At present the club is held every Monday, from 3.15 – 4.15.

We begin with a drink and a biscuit to bridge that hunger gap!

There is no charge for the weekly club as it is part of our church mission to children, but we do ask for a small donation towards such things as the Christmas Party.

All our helpers are CRB checked, and three are former teachers.
